Create National Market for Local Business

Invisible built a semi-automated technology solution to reconcile 70,000 SKUs / day.

One of our clients reinvents parking lots into neighborhood kitchens, wellness centers, and last-mile delivery hubs. When COVID hit, their business grew 20% MoM and they needed help.

The client first found Invisible when a breakout business unit (grocery) grew 4x MoM in the pandemic. They needed help working across 4,500 locations to ensure inventory was always accurately displayed in their online marketplace.

The Need

The client first found Invisible when a breakout business unit (grocery) grew 4x MoM in the pandemic. They needed help making sure that inventory was always accurately displayed in their online marketplace.

The Solution

Invisible built a process to reconcile 70,000 SKUs each day from 70 different data sources on a 2 hour SLA. Invisible was able to help within the first week and—over time—to reduce the client's unit costs by 20% within the first quarter.

We used a mix of people and machines to deliver high-quality outcomes and cost savings for the client.

The Division of Labor

Here's how machines and people partner to create results.

  1. Automated: First, client inventory records are automatically downloaded.
  2. Automated: Then, their marketplace is scraped to build a comparison list.
  3. Automated: Confirm data quality on each list.
  4. Automated: Next, algorithms run a comparison check across lists to confirm title, price, and image match each other.
  5. Human: Teams of trained agents assess the validity of the machine-identified mismatches and resolve the errors in realtime.

Pricing Enables Scale

As the volume of SKUs increases, the clients cost / SKU drops. And so Invisible is able to be a long-term operations partner that only gets more efficient with time.

The Impact

Invisible enabled the client to meet new market demand while saving them more than $20K on one process alone. Following this successful partnership, we expanded to other use cases. Today we help them find and maintain a database of more than 4,000 properties under management, each with more than 110 discrete data points.
